.....Carl Perkins along with his brother Bill began an oil and gas contracting business in 1947 known as Perkins Brothers. In 1950 Carl Perkins bought the business from his brother and became sole proprietor. In 1972 upon graduation from college Carl's son Deryl joined the company and in 1997 upon his graduation from college Deryl's son Clay began his career with the company. Perkins Oil & Gas is currently a contracting and production company that operates primarily in West Virginia.

..... In 1976 Carl incorporated and also purchased New Martinsville Supply Company which evolved into Ace Hardware Stores in New Martinsville and Pennsboro.

.....In 2001 Perkins Oil & Gas started Perkins Supply. You can find Perkins Supply by taking the Greenwood, WV exit on U.S. 50, turning west and going one mile to the building formerly owned by Carnegie Natural Gas.

.....Perkins Supply caters to oil and gas industry and is beginning to expand sales into other fields, such as logging, lumber, and general contracting.

.....Some of the items currently in stock at Perkins Supply include: absorbent pads, booms, Peat Sorb, belts, clamps, downhole pumps, electric motors, meter stations, house meters, pipe fitting in standard or extra heavy, depthometers, hydraulic oil savers, tongs, dies, inserts, swab cups, tanks, thread compounds, well heads, and pit liners. Gasoline engines, including engines from Briggs, Robin, and automatic electronic start up engines from Honda and Kohler are available, along with ball, check butterfly, gate needle, and Kimray Dump valves. Perkins Supply also carried a full line of Penzoil products, including oils, hydraulic fluid, greases, and lubricants.

....Greg Powers is the store manager and is in charge of most of the ordering, quoting, and pricing of material. He has been in the oil and gas business for the past 24 years.
