Established in 1880, Stout Hardware Company is Ritchie County's Oldest retail business. Shop in an atmosphere reminiscent of earlier days with our knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly staff. We are located at 116 South Spring Street, Harrisville on Rt. 16 near the Court House. We are a full line hardware store; tools, plumbing, pipe, electrical, HVAC, paint supplies, lawn and garden, small engine parts, masonry and concrete supplies, hunting, fishing, and camping supplies, rental equipment, screws, bolts, and fasteners, including stainless steel and brass, appliances, glass, cement block, feed, straw, fertilizer, seed, lumber, and bulk candy. We strive to maintain that old-fashioned hardware store atmosphere that so many are searching for.

We specialize in unique items such as natural gas refrigerator, inside and outside gas lights, bee supplies and other hard to find items. We are a Tizwhiz feed dealer, including horse, dog, cat, and all other feeds. For the painter, we carry Pittsburgh Paint, and DefiRust industrial paint. We are an authorized Maytag appliance dealer, carrying Maytag appliances in stock as well as Frigidaire appliances and Several gas refrigerators. We can also order parts for nearly any major appliance you may be repairing, with a one or two day delivery time.

Located near North Bend State Park we are where campers, fishermen and hunters need to stop. We stock hunting and shooting supplies; ammo, rifles, pistols, scopes, rings and mounts, binoculars, knives, bow supplies, tree stands and an extensive muzzleloader and black powder supplies, clothes, gloves and hats, as well as whole and cracked corn. The fisherman can find a wide selection of baits, lures, string, poles and reels in stock. We are a state hunting and fishing license agent and game check-in station. We are a drop-off station for taxidermy service and have many mounts on our shelves for display. We have tents, games, and gear for the campers as well as many items for RVs.We sell and service Simplicity and MTD lawn and garden equipment as well as Dolmar chainsaws, and Homelite and Maruyama trimmers. We are a warranty and service center for Homelite, MTD, Simplicity, Dolmar, Maruyama, and Ryobi. We stock small engine parts for Briggs & Stratton engines and do small engine repair on many chainsaws, trimmers, and lawn mowers. We carry fertilizer and many grass seeds and well as garden seed.

Other in-house services we offer are store catalog service and ordering, custom cutting glass and Plexiglas, screen door and window repair. We are a drop-off station for the Sharpening Shed, where you can get your saw chain, handsaw, circular saw blade and many other items sharpened. We rent many items such as a drywall lift, floor sander, pressure washer, electric generator, chop saws, electric demolition hammer, hammer drill, reciprocating saw, drills, appliance dolly, trash pumps, rototiller, and many other items.
